New credit rules help prevent debt crisis after college

Graduating college seniors are leaving school with more than just a degree these days. In 2009, the average credit debt a student had when leaving school was $3,173, with an average student having 4.6 credit cards, according to the college-financing business Sallie Mae.

North Omaha Media Alliance sponsors youth media literacy

The North Omaha Media Alliance is holding the second annual youth media project at the UNO to sponsor activities focused on promoting positive messages of North Omaha. The alliance helps youth participants understand how to use tools of the media to record images, create dialogues and use the messages to show its viewers another perspective of North Omaha.

Friday, Feb. 26 1:40 a.m. While on patrol of the Pacific location, Campus Security discovered an alcohol violation at Scott Residence Hall. The alcohol was confiscated. Five students were referred for disciplinary action. Saturday, Feb. 27 2:25 a.m. While on patrol of University Drive South, Campus Security observed a vehicle run the stop sign near the University Village clubhouse.
