SAN DIEGO (U-WIRE) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Sunday that a California meat packing company had launched the recall of more than 135 million pounds of beef -- the largest meat recall in U.S. history -- following questions about the company's treatment of cattle that were slaughtered even though they could not stand.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (U-WIRE) - Monday morning, chalk graffiti containing offensive pictures and words were found covering the front steps of Reese Phifer Hall and the arches under them.
UA spokeswoman Cathy Andreen said the graffiti was found by people entering the building.
